After completing the FREC 3 medics course the same five team leaders rolled straight into a two day mental health first aid course. The course is designed to recognise situations where people maybe having mental health issues and a quick response and understanding can help to then signpost people to the correct form of help.
We feel that having veterans that have mental health issues attending our expeditions having more knowledge of mental health will make the team stronger.
The course was taken by Tim a former Army Officer who attended our first expedition to Portugal in 2018, he has gone from strength to strength since that time and now presents mental health awareness courses across the country.
